The Test de connaissance du français pour le Québec (TCF Québec) is a test of proficiency in general French specially designed to be consistent with the standards of the ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration du Québec (MIFI). It is only intended for people wishing to settle in Québec (Certificat de Sélection du Québec).
From 1 August 2013, the Quebecoise authorities require a minimum B2 level to issue a maximum of 16 points for this linguistic evaluation.
DOES THE TEST INCLUDE?
The TCF is available in computer-based version.
No prior qualification is required to sit the exam. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
Candidates may take the test several times, allowing a minimum of 1 (one) month between two exam sessions.
The TCF TP evaluate the French skills on a scale with six levels (from A1 to C2)
1 Listening: 25 minutes (29 questions)
2 Reading: 45 minutes (29 questions)
3 Writing: 60 minutes (3 topics to cover)
4 Speaking: 12 minutes (3 topics to cover)
An official certificate of results will be delivered to each candidate from 4 to 8 weeks after the test. For each module, the certificate will show the score obtained.
The results are valid for two years.
